What is involved?

The course requires a minimum of four weeks to complete. There is one weekend of face-to-face sessions. Teachers are required to complete assignments prior to, during and following the residential sessions.

There are five stages to the course, each of which needs to be completed prior to receiving your certificate:

  • Stage 1 - Pre-residential assignment
  • Stage 2 - Face-to-face residential sessions
  • Stage 3 - Following the residentials, teachers develop four lesson plans and submit them to a teacher trainer prior to using them in class. The teacher trainer provides guidance and feedback on the lesson plan before it is taught.
  • Stage 4 – Teachers evaluate the effectiveness of each lesson via reflective teaching techniques.
  • Stage 5 – Complete a test over the course booklet and information from the residentials.
